Sir Henry Paulet St John, 2nd Baronet (born 1737, died 1784) was a British politician. He served in the House of Commons, which is a part of the British Parliament, from 1772 to 1780. A "Baronet" is a special title, like a knight, that can be passed down in a family.

Early Life and Education

Henry Paulet St John was the oldest son of Sir Paulet St John, 1st Baronet. His family lived at Dogmersfield Park in Hampshire, England. His mother was Mary Waters.

Henry went to Winchester College in 1750, which is a famous school. Later, he studied at New College, Oxford starting in 1755. He earned his Master of Arts degree in 1759. When he was 23 years old, he received the title of Knight in 1760.

In 1763, Henry married Dorothy Maria Tucker. Her father was Abraham Tucker from Betchworth Castle in Surrey.

His Time in Politics

With help from the Duke of Chandos, Henry St John became a Member of Parliament for Hampshire. He was elected in a special election in February 1772. He ran unopposed, meaning no one else was running against him.

He kept his seat in the general election that same year. During his time in the House of Commons, there are no records of him giving speeches. He did not run for re-election in 1780.

Later Years and Family

In 1780, Henry St John inherited his father's title as the 2nd Baronet. He also took over the Dogmersfield Park estate. He passed away in 1784.

His only son, Henry, became the next Baronet. Sir Henry Paulet St John and his wife Dorothy also had two daughters.
