Kids Encyclopedia Facts

Sir Herbert Charles Perrott (born October 26, 1849 – died February 15, 1922) was an important English gentleman. He held a special title called a baronet. A baronet is like a knight, but the title can be passed down in the family. Sir Herbert inherited one of these titles in 1886. He was also given another baronet title in 1911 because of his good work. Sadly, he didn't have any sons, so when he passed away in 1922, both of these special titles came to an end.

Who Was Sir Herbert Perrott?

Sir Herbert Charles Perrott was the older son of Sir Edward George Lambert Perrott. His mother was Emma Maria Houghton. His family had a long history, and they were related to famous people from the past.

The Perrott Family Title

The Perrott family had a very old baronet title that started in 1716. This title was first given to Sir Robert Perrott. He was a relative of Sir John Perrot, who was an important leader in Ireland a long time ago during the time of Queen Elizabeth I.

There was a small problem with the first baronet title. The official paperwork was not fully recorded back in 1716. Because of this, when Sir Herbert was given his own baronet title in 1911, it helped make everything official for the family's old title too.
