Thomas Domvile was the son of Sir William Domville and Brigid Lake. His mother, Brigid, was the daughter of Sir Thomas Lake.

Becoming a Baronet

On December 21, 1686, Thomas Domvile was given a special title: he became a baronet. This title is a bit like being a knight, but it can be passed down through the family. His title was "Baronet of Templeogue" in the Baronetage of Ireland. In 1694, he was given land at Templeogue.

His Role in Parliament

Sir Thomas Domvile was a Member of Parliament (MP) for Mullingar. This meant he was chosen to represent Mullingar in the Irish House of Commons. The House of Commons was a very important part of the government in Ireland at that time. He served as an MP between 1692 and 1693.

Sir Thomas Domvile was married three times.

  • His first wife was Elizabeth Lake. They had a daughter named Bridget, who later married Henry Barry, 3rd Baron Barry of Santry.
  • His second wife was Anna Compton. With Anna, he had a son named Compton Domvile. Compton later took over his father's baronet title. They also had a daughter named Elizabeth Pocklington (Domville).
  • His third wife was Frances Cole, the daughter of Sir John Cole.
