Becoming a Noble and Politician
When Henry was young, his father passed away in October 1694. This meant Henry inherited his father's noble title, becoming the 3rd Baron Barry of Santry. A "Baron" is a type of noble, a bit like a lord.
On 21 September 1703, Henry took his place in the Irish House of Lords. This was a part of the Irish Parliament, where important people helped make laws. He worked on many committees in Parliament.

Henry Barry married a woman named Bridget Domvile. Her father was Sir Thomas Domvile. Henry and Bridget had one son, who was also named Henry. This son later became the 4th Baron Barry of Santry after his father's death in 1734.
