Linet Munyali (born August 4, 1987) is a talented Kenyan singer, songwriter, and actress. She is best known by her stage name, Size 8.
Size 8 first became famous for her popular mainstream songs like "Shamba Boy" and "Moto." Later, she decided to change her music style. In April 2013, she started making gospel songs. Her first gospel song was called "Mateke." Besides singing, Size 8 also acted in a TV show called Mashtaka.
Early Life and School
Linet Munyali, or Size 8, was born on August 4, 1987. She grew up in a place called Maringo Estate in Nairobi, Kenya. She is the youngest of six children. Her father was from Uganda, and her mother was Kenyan. Both of her parents were religious leaders.
Growing up, Size 8 was very good at school and also showed a lot of artistic talent. She earned a special scholarship to attend State House Girls High School in Nairobi. This school is close to State House. She also went to Hillcrest School in Karen, Kenya.
Music Career
Size 8's journey in music began when she was discovered by Clemo. Clemo is a well-known Kenyan music producer. He found her after she tried out at a local audition. She then released her first songs, including "Shamba Boy," "Silali," and "Vidonge."
In April 2013, Size 8 shared that she had decided to sing gospel music. This change happened because of a special spiritual transformation in her life. She felt a strong connection to her faith. This made her want to make music that matched her beliefs. This decision was a big moment in her career. Later that year, she released her first gospel song, "Mateke."
Since changing her music style, she has released many popular gospel songs. Some of these include "Moto," "Yuko na Wewe," "Jemedari," and "Afadhali Yesu."
Family Life
Size 8 married Samuel Muraya in September 2013. Samuel is a Kenyan DJ and music producer, also known as DJ Mo. They have two children together. Size 8 has spoken about the challenges they faced as a couple. She is dedicated to raising their children together in a healthy way.
