About the Show
Skedaddle was a game show for kids. It was like a game of "Hot Potato." Two teams of four children played. One team was called the "Sludge Puppies." They wore red outfits. The other team was the "Drainiacs," who wore yellow. The game took place in a studio. It looked like a cartoon sewer.
How to Play
Choosing a Dinosaur
Each team got to pick one of three dinosaur characters. These characters were named Slam, Dunk, and Seymour. They were also known as "The Down and Dirty Dinosaurs." They were the hosts for the Funtastic World block of shows that autumn. The chosen dinosaur would come out of its special area. It would bring a small object, like a top hat. This object was linked to a question. The question always had a number as the answer.
Answering Questions
To answer, the team had to toss the object. They passed it back and forth among players. They had only 15 seconds to do this. When the number of passes matched their guess, the player holding the object ran. They went to the middle of the studio. Then, they honked a bicycle horn.
Scoring Points
If the team guessed correctly, they earned points. The points were equal to the correct answer. If they guessed wrong, or ran out of time, they got no points. If they threw the object out of bounds, they also got nothing.
The "Wheel of Torture"
If a team made a mistake, the dinosaur spun a "wheel of torture." This wheel would cause the team to get "slimed." A special liquid would pour into the sewer set. For example, if it landed on "ice cream parlor," the contestants would get covered in melted ice cream.
Winning the Game
After four rounds, the team with the most points won. That team then moved on to the bonus round.
Bonus Round Challenge
In the bonus round, three stools were set up in a row. One of the dinosaurs stood above each stool. Each dinosaur held a bucket. Each player on the winning team was asked a question. They were given three possible answers to choose from. The player sat on the stool that matched their guess. The dinosaur would then tip the bucket over the player's head.
If the player guessed correctly, the bucket was empty. The player would score a point. But if the player was wrong, the bucket was full of green slime! The slime would fall all over the contestant. The goal was to get four correct answers. They had to do this before all four team members got slimed. If they succeeded, they won the grand prize!
