Skene is a small community in Bolivar County, Mississippi, in the United States. It is located on Mississippi Highway 446. Skene is known as a census-designated place, which means it's an area that looks like a town but doesn't have its own local government. It's also an unincorporated community, meaning it's not officially part of a city or town.
Skene is about 3 miles (5 km) west of Boyle and 7 miles (11 km) north of Shaw. Long ago, Skene was a stop on a train line called the Boyle and Sunflower branch of the Yazoo and Mississippi Valley Railroad. A post office served the community of Skene from 1902 until 1992.
In the 2020 Census, Skene was officially recognized as a census-designated place for the first time. The census counted 210 people living there.

Students in Skene attend schools that are part of the West Bolivar Consolidated School District. Before 2014, Skene was in the Shaw School District. That district later joined with West Bolivar.
The schools for students from the Skene area, from kindergarten all the way through 12th grade, are McEvans Elementary School and Shaw High School. These schools used to be combined as McEvans K-12 School.
Famous People from Skene
- Chet Morgan (1910–1991) was a professional baseball player and manager. He played for teams in Major League Baseball, most notably the Detroit Tigers.
