Skor is a delicious chocolate toffee bar made by The Hershey Company. It first appeared in the U.S. in 1981. Two years later, in 1983, it also became available in Canada.
What is a Skor Bar?
A Skor bar is made of a thin piece of buttery toffee. This toffee is then covered in a smooth layer of milk chocolate. You can find Skor bars in two sizes: a single bar or a larger "king-size" bar. Each single bar weighs about 1.4 ounces (39 grams).
The Story Behind Skor
The Skor bar was created to compete with another popular candy bar called the Heath bar. The Heath bar was originally made by the Heath Company. Later, the Leaf Candy Company bought it. In 1996, Hershey bought the Heath bar from Leaf.
Today, The Hershey Company sells both the Skor bar and the Heath bar. Even though they were once competitors, they are now part of the same company.
Skor vs. Heath: What's the Difference?
Skor bars and Heath bars are very similar. They both feature a toffee center covered in chocolate. However, there are small differences between them. For example, the Skor bar is usually a little bit thinner than the Heath bar. Both offer a crunchy, sweet treat for candy lovers!
