What is Skyland About?
In the 23rd century, Earth has shattered into billions of floating pieces. This new world is called Skyland. Some humans have evolved into special beings called Seijins. Seijins can absorb energy from sunlight. This energy gives them amazing powers. These powers include moving things with their mind (telekinesis) and reading thoughts (telepathy). They can also create energy blasts or electric rays.
Skyland is controlled by a group called the Sphere. The Sphere controls all the water, which is very important. They keep their power using Guardians. These Guardians are Seijins trained from a young age. A group of pirates fights against the Sphere's control. The story follows two siblings, Mahad and Lena. Their mother is captured by the Sphere. The pirates rescue Mahad and Lena. They then join the pirate rebellion to fight for freedom.
Who are the Main Characters?
- Mahad (Age 17): Mahad is a lively and adventurous pilot. He loves to show off but is also charming. He is not a Seijin. His main goal is to free his mother from the Sphere. Mahad is the best pilot in Skyland. He flies his father's ship, the Hyperion. He often has too much confidence. His favorite weapon is a boomerang.
- Lena (Age 12): Lena is Mahad's younger sister. She is smart, calm, and determined. She is a very powerful Seijin. Many believe she is the 'Lady of Light' from an old prophecy. Lena has powers like telekinesis and telepathy. She can also create energy bolts and even float high in the air. She is still learning to control her strong powers.
- Aran Cortes (Age 37): Cortes is a tough and serious leader. He is like a father figure to the pirates at Puerto Angel. He was part of the first Pirate Rebellion. He often gets frustrated but cares deeply about his team. His weapon of choice is a shotgun.
- Cheng (Age 12): Cheng is super smart, especially with computers. He loves to hack and play jokes. He sees missions like video games. Cheng is Cortes's foster son. He believes his parents were pirate scientists who died. His weapon is a laser bazooka.
- Dahlia (Age 20): Dahlia is a valued member of the pirates. She is serious but also has a mischievous side. She fights alongside Cortes. She uses an energy bow and arrow. She often tells Mahad off when he disobeys.
- Diwan (Age 25): Diwan is a powerful Seijin. She works for Oslo and tries to capture Lena. She is bald and has a red tattoo. She controls the Brigadiers, who are Sphere soldiers.
- Marcus Farrell: Marcus is Mahad and Lena's father. He was the former leader of the Pirate Rebellion. He disappeared during an attack on the Sphere. Mahad and Lena later learn he might still be alive.
- Mila (Age 35): Mila is Mahad and Lena's mother. She is a very powerful Seijin. She was once a top student at the Guardian School. She chose to leave the Sphere after seeing how bad they were. She married Marcus Farrell and helped build the rebellion. She was captured by the Sphere.
- Oslo (Age 35): Oslo is the leader of the Guardians and Commander of the Sphere. He is Mila's former best friend. He has very strong Seijin powers. He wants to capture Lena because she is even more powerful. He has a rivalry with Marcus Farrell.
- The Vector (Age 60): The Vector is a very smart but eccentric man. He lives alone in a lighthouse. He helped Mila escape the Sphere Academy. He teaches Lena how to use her powers. He has mapped parts of Skyland.
- Wayan (Age 30): Wayan is Cortes's second-in-command. He is an excellent shot and very focused in battle. He is also a talkative joker with a positive attitude. His weapon is a Shock Blaster.
