Skypoint facts for kids
Skypoint is a cool, tent-like building in downtown Billings, Montana, USA. You can find it right where 2nd Avenue and Broadway meet. It stands really tall, reaching 73 feet into the sky!
This special structure has three big "sails." One of these sails is super big and can actually move. It can open up to let the sunshine in, or close to keep the rain out. Skypoint was built to help make downtown Billings a more exciting place. The idea was to bring more people to the area.
Building Skypoint
Skypoint was finished in April 2002. When it was first built, people called it the "Defining Element." But soon after, there was a contest to give it a new name, and that's how it became "Skypoint"!
The city wanted Skypoint to be a new symbol for Billings. It's also a great spot for fun events. For example, the Strawberry Festival and the Christmas Stroll happen there. Many other community events take place under its sails too.
