Slavko Brankov was recognized for his great acting. In 1992, he received the Vladimir Nazor Award. This is a very important award in Croatia for achievements in art and culture. He won it for his role as Calogiero di Spelta in a play called "Velika magija."

He also won an award from Croatian Radio Television. This was for his role as "Crni Džek" (which means Black Jack). He played this character in a very popular children's TV series called Smogovci. Many kids loved watching this show. Slavko Brankov also appeared in some Croatian films. One of these was Ajmo žuti (Go, Yellow), which came out in 2001.
