Slim was a small community that no longer exists today. It was located in the southwestern part of McCurtain County, Oklahoma, in the United States.

The community of Slim was found about six miles north of a town called Valliant. It was also very close to Pine Creek Lake, about half a mile south of it. Another community, Mound Grove, was just one mile to the east of Slim.
Slim's Post Office
Having a post office was very important for a community in the past. It was how people sent and received letters and packages. Slim had its own post office that was open for many years. It started operating on January 15, 1916. The post office served the community for quite some time before it closed on July 31, 1933.
Life in Slim
After Oklahoma became a state, the people living in Slim often did their business and shopping in towns located in Pushmataha County. This was because Slim was very close to the border of Pushmataha County, making those towns easier to reach for daily needs.
