Smith Grove is a quiet place in Houston County, Texas. It's known as a ghost town, which means it used to have people living there, but now most of them have moved away.
A Look Back in Time
Smith Grove started a long time ago, even before the year 1900. By the mid-1930s, it had a church, a small store, and a few homes spread out. Things stayed pretty much the same into the 1960s. Another church was built, but after World War II, many people started to move away. By the early 1990s, it was officially called a "dispersed rural community," meaning people lived far apart, and it wasn't a busy town anymore.
