Smith and Goody was a fun children's TV show from the 1980s. It was a sketch show, which means it had lots of short, funny scenes. The show aired on ITV and was made by Thames Television. The main stars and writers were Mel Smith and Bob Goody. Peter Brewis created the music for the show.

Mel Smith and Bob Goody were a classic comedy duo. One was short, and the other was very tall. They had worked together since meeting at drama school. They even put on a show together at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 1977. At the time, Mel Smith was also known for being part of the popular show Not The Nine O'Clock News on BBC Two.
The Christmas Special
There was also a special Christmas episode called Smith And Goody On Ice. This episode was a bit different from the regular show. It focused more on funny sketches and running around. It didn't have as much of the book-focused, educational theme.
