Soledad de Doblado facts for kids
Soledad de Doblado is a special kind of area called a municipality in the center of the Mexican state of Veracruz. It's found in a dry area called the Sotavento plains, about 75 kilometers (about 47 miles) away from Xalapa, which is the state capital. This municipality covers an area of 370.96 square kilometers (about 143 square miles).
The town of Soledad de Doblado got its name on June 16, 1896. It was named to honor Manuel Doblado. He was an important person who signed some early agreements right here in this place on February 19, 1862. These agreements were made with representatives from England, Spain, and France. Later, on November 16, 1961, the town officially became a city.

The municipality of Soledad de Doblado has neighbors all around it. To the north, it borders Paso de Ovejas. To the east, you'll find Manlio Fabio Altamirano. To the southeast, it's next to Jamapa, and to the south, it borders Cotaxtla. On its western side, it's next to Comapa and Carrillo Puerto.
A river called the Jamapa flows through this area. The Jamapa River joins with the Cotaxtla River. Together, they flow into the Gulf of Mexico, forming a place called the Bar of Boca del Río.
