Sonora, Ohio facts for kids
Sonora is a small place located in Muskingum County, in the state of Ohio, U.S.. It is known as an unincorporated community. This means it is a group of homes and businesses that do not have their own local government, like a city or town would. Instead, it is managed by the larger county government.
A Look Back at Sonora's History
Sonora was first started in the year 1852. A few years later, in 1855, a post office opened in Sonora. This post office helped people send and receive letters and packages for many years. It stayed open and served the community until 1988, when it finally closed.
