Sorata Municipality is a special area in Bolivia. It's like a local government district. In the Aymara language, it's called Surat'a. This municipality is found in the La Paz Department. It's part of the Larecaja Province. The main town and capital of this area is Sorata.
A huge mountain range called the Illampu - Janq'u Uma massif is located here. This area is home to Laguna Glaciar. This lake is one of the highest lakes in the world!
