Argentine Origins
Other theories point to Argentina as their true birthplace. Some people believe they were created in the city of Mar del Plata. This might have been by an Italian immigrant from Sorrento, or by his son, Cayetano Persico. Another idea is that they started in Buenos Aires, in a place named Sorrento or Sorrentino.
