Christopher Jose Cooper, born on November 17, 1966, is a talented American musician. He is known by his stage names, Soup the Chemist and Super C. He is famous for being a pioneer in Christian hip hop music.

He was part of a hip hop group called Soldiers for Christ, or S.F.C. As a solo artist, he released two albums: Dust in 2000 and Eargasmic Arrangements in 2003. He also wrote a book about his life, called Through My Windows, in 2014.

Early Life and Education

Christopher Jose Cooper was born in New York on November 17, 1966. He grew up in Rancho Cucamonga, California. He finished high school at Cajon High School in 1984.

Music Career

Cooper started his music journey in 1984. He was inspired to create Christian hip hop after watching the movie Wild Style. This film is known as an important movie about hip hop culture.

Some of his early music influences were old-school rap groups. These included Double Trouble, Run DMC, and EPMD.

Soldiers for Christ

At the start of his career, Cooper was known as Super C. He formed a hip hop group called Soldiers for Christ, or S.F.C. This group, along with others, helped start the Christian hip hop music style. Because he was one of the first, Cooper is sometimes called the "Godfather of Christian rap." His group, S.F.C., released four studio albums.

Solo Albums and Book

Cooper also released music as a solo artist. His album Dust came out on January 31, 2000. It was released through BEC Recordings.

He later released another album, Eargasmic Arrangements, in 2003. In 2014, Cooper published a book about his life. The book is called Through My Windows.
