South Bohemia is a beautiful region in the Czech Republic. It's like a big province or state. The main city, where the government is, is called České Budějovice. This region is known for its stunning nature and many historical places.
Nature and Rivers
South Bohemia is home to the amazing Bohemian Forest in its southwest part. This forest is a great place for hiking and exploring. The region is also where the Vltava river flows. The Vltava is the longest river in the Czech Republic.
Many other important rivers run through South Bohemia. These include the Malše, Lužnice, Otava, Nežárka, and Lomnice rivers. The region is also famous for its countless ponds. The biggest one is Rožmberk Pond.
A large part of the beautiful Šumava National Park is also found here. This park protects unique natural areas, including forests and peat bogs.
Districts of South Bohemia
The South Bohemia region is divided into seven smaller areas called districts. Each district has its own main town. These districts help organize the region.
