Soyuz TM-24 was a special space mission, the 27th trip to the Mir space station. It carried a crew of three astronauts and cosmonauts. The main crew included Valery Korzun and Aleksandr Kaleri. They were joined by Claudie André-Deshays, who was the first French woman to go to space.
When they arrived at Mir, they met American astronaut Shannon Lucid. They also joined the Mir 21 crew, Yuri Onufriyenko and Yuri Usachev. Claudie André-Deshays stayed on Mir for 16 days. During this time, she did many science experiments. Her mission was called Cassiopée. After her experiments, she returned to Earth with Onufriyenko and Usachev.
