Spencer Christian (born July 23, 1947) is a well-known American television broadcaster. He is famous for being the weather forecaster on ABC's Good Morning America from 1986 to 1998. Today, he works as the weather forecaster for KGO-TV in San Francisco. Spencer Christian has also written several books for children.

Spencer Christian's Early Life and Career
Spencer Christian was born in Newport News, Virginia, in 1947. He started his career in broadcasting in 1971 at WWBT in Richmond, Virginia. There, he worked as a news reporter. He covered important topics like state and local politics and the public school system. He also reported on major court cases.
Becoming a Weatherman
In 1975, Spencer Christian became a weatherman for the first time. He joined WBAL-TV in Baltimore, Maryland. He was part of their Action News team. This was an important step in his career.
Moving to New York City
After his time in Baltimore, Christian moved to New York City. From 1977 to 1986, he worked at WABC-TV. He was a general reporter, a weatherman, and even a sportscaster for their Eyewitness News program.
Spencer Christian on National Television
In August 1986, Spencer Christian joined Good Morning America. This was a very popular national morning show on ABC. He became their main weather forecaster. Besides giving the weather, he also traveled a lot. He reported on many different stories from all over the United States and other countries. Hosting Other Shows
From 1992 to 1993, Spencer Christian also hosted a music game show called Triple Threat. This show was on the BET cable network. He also hosted Spencer Christian's Wine Cellar on HGTV from 1995 to 1999.
Since 1997, Christian has hosted the PBS train series Tracks Ahead. This show explores the world of trains. In 2006, he started hosting The View from the Bay in San Francisco. This was a popular afternoon show.
Returning to Good Morning America
In June 2014, Spencer Christian made a special return to Good Morning America. He filled in as a substitute weather forecaster. He also came back on November 19, 2015. This was to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Good Morning America.
Spencer Christian's Current Role
Spencer Christian left Good Morning America at the end of 1998. In January 1999, he started working at KGO-TV in San Francisco, California. He has been the weather forecaster there ever since. He continues to share his knowledge of weather with viewers in the San Francisco Bay Area.
