Spiro Çomora (born January 31, 1918, died April 16, 1973) was an Albanian writer who wrote plays. He was best known for his comedies. His most famous play was Karnavalet e Korçës (which means Korçë's Carnivals). It first showed in 1961 and made him famous across Albania. Çomora also wrote poems for children and was a skilled translator.

Life and Early Years

Spiro Çomora was born in Corfu, Greece. His family came from a village called Vuno in Himare, a beautiful coastal area in Albania. He passed away when he was 55 years old.

Writing Career

Spiro Çomora's most well-known comedy play is Karnavalet e Korçës, which means Korçë's Carnivals. This play first came out in 1961.

Çomora also wrote many poems especially for children. He was also very good at translating old Greek plays into Albanian. For example, he translated The Odyssey by Homer and Lysistrata by Aristophanes. He was also known for writing funny and sharp articles in a magazine called Hosteni. These articles often made fun of things in a clever way.
