Spring City is a small Village located in Newton County, Missouri, in the United States. It is about five miles south of a bigger city called Joplin, right along Route 86. This community is part of the larger Joplin Metropolitan Statistical Area.

How Spring City Got Its Name
Spring City was first planned out in the year 1885. It got its name from a natural spring that was very close to where the town was first built.
When Spring City Had a Post Office
A post office opened in Spring City in 1893. This was a place where people could send and receive mail. The post office stayed open for about ten years, closing down in 1903.
