History of Springboro
Springboro got its name from a nearby stream called Spring Creek. A post office was opened here in 1851. This allowed people to send and receive mail. However, the post office closed just two years later, in 1853. Springboro didn't grow as much as people hoped. Over time, most business activities moved to other places nearby.
