Sree Parabat (born Prabir Kumar Goswami) was a famous writer from Kolkata, India. He lived from January 1, 1927, to November 2, 2010. He was best known for his exciting historical novels written in the Bengali language. Some of his most popular books include Ami Sirajer Begum, Mamtaz Duhita Jahanara, and Aravalli Thekey Agra.

Discovering Sree Parabat's Early Life

Sree Parabat was born on January 1, 1927, in Cooch Behar. His parents were Sudhir Kumar Goswami and Preetibindu Devi. His family's original home was in Amla Sadarpur, which is now part of Bangladesh.

A Family of Scholars and Writers

Both of Sree Parabat's parents came from families who loved learning and literature. His father's family was part of the famous "Advaita Parivāra" group. This family was directly related to Sree Sree Advaita Acharya. Advaita Acharya was a teacher and close friend of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, a very important spiritual leader.

Another famous person from the same family was Bijoy Krishna Goswami. He was a well-known social reformer. Sree Parabat's younger brother, Rebanta Goswami, was also a writer. He wrote novels and science fiction stories. The famous novelist Amiya Bhushan Majumdar was Sree Parabat's first cousin on his mother's side.

Sree Parabat's Passing

Sree Parabat passed away on November 2, 2010, at his home in Kolkata. For the last 15 years of his life, he lived in Santoshpur, Kolkata. Before that, he lived in other parts of the city, including Beliaghata, Park Circus, and North Kolkata.
