The St. John the Baptist Cathedral (also known as the Cathedral of Carora) is a beautiful Catholic church in the city of Carora, Venezuela. You can find it on San Juan street, between Bolivar and Lara Avenues. It's a very important building for both religious reasons and its long history.

This cathedral follows the Roman Catholic tradition. It is decorated completely in white, which makes it look very grand. It's not just a church; it's also a popular place for tourists to visit. The cathedral is the main church for the Diocese of Carora. This diocese was officially created on July 22, 1992, by Pope John Paul II. The building became a cathedral on November 11, 1992.

You'll find the cathedral in the oldest part of Carora, right across from Bolivar Square. It took about 100 years to build! The church shows off a mix of old styles, mainly baroque style and Renaissance architecture. Construction started in the early 1600s, and the church was already in use by 1658. Later, in 1745, a special main altar was added. Sadly, a fire damaged the building in 1825, so it had to be rebuilt.
