St. Patrick, sometimes called St. Patricks, is a small, unincorporated community located in Shelby County, Ohio, in the United States. An "unincorporated community" means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a city or town with its own local government. This quiet area is found in the northwestern part of Turtle Creek Township. It sits northwest of Sidney, which is the main city (county seat) for Shelby County.

The History of St. Patrick
St. Patrick began to grow around a special place: St. Patrick's Catholic Church. This church was built in the area in 1862.
Irish Settlers
Many parts of western Ohio were settled by people from Germany who were Catholic. But St. Patrick was different! Most of the people who settled here were from Ireland. They brought their Irish traditions and faith with them.
The Post Office
For a short time, St. Patrick even had its own post office. It opened on September 22, 1893. However, it closed down on June 30, 1904. After that, mail for St. Patrick was handled through the post office in a nearby community called Swanders.
St. Patrick Today
Today, St. Patrick is a very small community. This is partly because fewer people live in rural areas now. Many people have moved to bigger cities over the years.
The Church's Legacy
The original St. Patrick's Catholic Church was very important to the community. It was even added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. This list recognizes places that are important to history. Sadly, the church later closed and was eventually taken down. Now, a special memorial stands where the church used to be, remembering its history and the people who built the community.
