The St. Philip Neri Cathedral (also known as the Catedral de San Felipe Neri) is a very important Catholic church. It is the main church for the Diocese of Los Teques. You can find this cathedral in the old part of Los Teques city, in Miranda state, Venezuela. It stands right in front of the famous Plaza Bolivar.
History of the Cathedral
The building started as a small prayer place in the 1700s. The first priest, Manuel Antonio Fernandez Feo, held the first Mass there on September 17, 1778. The first church officially opened its doors on May 31, 1790.
