St Thomas is a neighborhood and a 'community' area in Swansea, Wales. It is mostly a place where people live, located east of Swansea city centre across the River Tawe. It is also part of the St Thomas voting area. A road called Fabian Way separates the older homes from Swansea Docks. The docks area has been updated since 2010 with new shops, businesses, and apartments.

In 2011, about 7,187 people lived here. St Thomas also includes the area called Port Tennant.

St Thomas has a new primary school called St Thomas Community Primary. This school also includes the old Margaret Street Nursery. There is also a Community Centre and a local library for everyone to use.

St Thomas has many traditional homes, often with 2 or 3 bedrooms. These houses were built during the Victorian era for people who worked at the docks or in factories nearby. After World War II, more homes were built by the local council for families.

Fun by the River

Along the east side of the River Tawe in St Thomas, there is a grassy area for fun. It has paths for walking and cycling, which are part of National Cycle Network Route 43. People living nearby use this area to relax and play. There are plans to build new homes here, but some people from Kilvey Hill don't agree with this idea.
