The Mount Victoria Forest Reserve is a special area of temperate rainforest located in the North East part of Tasmania, an Australian state. It's a really important place for nature and was set aside to protect its unique plants and animals.

This reserve was created in 1997 as part of a bigger plan by the Tasmanian and Australian governments. This plan aimed to protect important natural areas across the state. Mount Victoria was seen as a high-priority spot to keep safe.

Mount Victoria is also part of a larger natural area called the Ben Lomond bioregion. This bioregion is known for its beautiful forests and diverse wildlife.

Amazing Waterfalls

The Mount Victoria Forest Reserve and the areas around it are home to some truly beautiful waterfalls. They are a big reason why people love to visit this natural spot.

Ralphs Falls

Ralphs Falls is a very tall waterfall within the Mt Victoria Forest Reserve. It drops about 90 metres (around 295 feet)! You can see the falls from a special lookout point right across from them. They look amazing all year, but especially during the wetter winter and spring months when the water flows strongly. Ralphs Falls is only about a 12-kilometre drive from another famous waterfall, St Columba Falls.

St Columba Falls

St Columba Falls is another impressive waterfall, very close to Ralphs Falls, even though it's just outside the reserve's official borders. It's one of the tallest waterfalls in Tasmania, also dropping around 90 metres. St Columba Falls always has a good amount of water flowing, making it a spectacular sight. It's about a 25-minute drive from the town of St Helens. There's a short walking track, which takes about 20 minutes to walk there and back, that leads you right to the base of the falls. You can also enjoy the view from the car park, looking across the gorge.
