A Look at Its Long History
The oldest parts of St George's Church were built in the late 11th century, which is over 900 years ago! Most of the church you see today was built between the 12th and 15th centuries. Later, in the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries, some changes and additions were made.
Building Through the Centuries
In 1833, the vicar, Reverend Henry Moule, helped design some new parts for the church. Later, in 1907, more rebuilding and additions happened. These were designed by an architect named Jem Feacy. Each change added to the church's unique look.
