The St John's Centre is a popular indoor shopping mall located in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. It is a great place to shop and hang out. The centre is surrounded by major streets like The Headrow and Albion Street.
This shopping centre is one of three main malls in the northern part of Leeds city centre. It sits between The Core to the south and the Merrion Centre to the north. Lots of people visit St John's Centre, with about ten million visitors each year! A public space called Dortmund Square is right in front of the centre. The mall was updated and made new in 2005.
Shops and Places to Eat
You can find many different shops and restaurants at St John's Centre. Some popular places include McDonald's, Poundland, the Post Office, and Taco Bell. There are also smaller, unique shops and eateries like Trade Me In. On the first floor, you can relax at a large cafe.
In the past, shops like Topshop used to be here. The centre does not have one very large main store, but it has many smaller ones.
How the Centre is Laid Out
The St John's Centre has two main floors for shopping. You can move between the ground floor and the first floor using three escalators. There are also stairs next to the escalators. Lifts are available too, making it easy for everyone to get around.
The ground floor has exits that lead out to Dortmund Square. This square is located on The Headrow. The first floor has exits that take you to Albion Street and Merrion Street.
Parking at the Centre
If you are coming by car, St John's Centre has a large car park. It is a multi-storey car park, meaning it has many levels. This car park is open 24 hours a day and is run by Q-Park.
There are 282 parking spaces available for visitors. You can get to the car park from Merrion Street, which is at the back of the centre. There is also a direct way to enter the shopping centre from the car park using a lift.
