St John's Church, also known as St John's Baillieston, is a historic church located in Glasgow, Scotland. It was built in the 1800s and serves the Baillieston area. This church is part of the Scottish Episcopal Church.

The Story of St John's Church

Building the Church

St John's Church was built in 1850. It was designed in a style called Neo-Gothic. This style looks back to the grand churches of the Middle Ages. The church officially opened its doors on December 27, 1850.

A year later, in 1851, the church was "consecrated." This means it was formally dedicated and made sacred for religious use. After this, it became an "Incumbency," which means it had its own priest in charge.

A New Chapter

Many years later, in January 1996, St John's Church joined with two other churches. These were St Serf's Church, Shettleston and St Kentigern's, Dennistoun. Together, they formed a larger group called the East End Ministry. This helped them work together and serve their communities better.
