St John the Baptist's Church is an Anglican church. It is the main church for the village of East Farndon, which is in Northamptonshire, England. This church is a very special building. It is a Grade I listed building, meaning it is very old and important. You can find it right in the middle of East Farndon village.
Church History
When the Domesday Book was made in 1086, it was a big survey of England. This book does not mention a church or a priest in East Farndon. This might mean there was no church building there at that time. Or, it could just mean there was no priest living in the village.
The main parts of the church you see today were built a long time ago. They were put up in the 1200s and 1300s. The church has a main hall called a nave. It also has a chancel, which is the part where the altar is. There is a south aisle, which is like a side section. And it has a tall tower at the west end.
East Farndon is part of a "united benefice." This means it shares a priest with a few other nearby villages. These villages are Arthingworth, Harrington, and Oxendon. Each of these villages still has its own church building.
