This church is really old! It was built way back in the 1200s (that's the 13th century). For a long time, in the 1200s and 1300s, it was the main church for a powerful family called the Everingham Barons. You can still see some of their old stone memorials inside the church today.
The church was given a big makeover in 1859 and 1860. Two architects, Thomas Chambers Hine and Robert Evans, helped to restore it, making sure it stayed in good shape for future generations.
