St Peter’s Church, Chesil, Winchester is an old building in Winchester, England. It used to be a church for the Church of England. Now, it is the home of a theater group called Chesil Theatre. Its older name was St Peter upon Chesille without Eastgate.

What is St Peter's Church?

This building has parts that are very old, going back to the 12th century (the 1100s). It is made from flint and stone. The tower where the bells used to be, called the belfry turret, and the roofs are covered with tiles.

Why is it not a church anymore?

The church stopped being used after the Second World War. In 1960, experts said it was not safe to be inside. After that, the Chesil Theatre company bought the building. They now use it for their plays and performances.
