The Church of St Peter and St Paul, East Drayton is a very old and important church located in the village of East Drayton, England. It is a Church of England church and is considered a special historical building. It is so important that it has a special heritage status called Grade I listed. This means it's one of the most important historic buildings in the country.

A Look Back in Time

This church is very old! It was first built around the end of the 1100s. Over the years, parts of the church have been repaired and made new again. This is called 'restoration'.

For example, in 1857, church authorities helped to restore it. Later, in 1873, the main part of the church (called the nave) and the side sections (aisles) were also restored. The roof got a new look in 1982.

In the churchyard, there are two old gravestones. These are also considered historically important and are listed as Grade II listed buildings.

The Church Organ

The church has a musical instrument called an organ. This organ was built a long time ago, in 1860, by a person named J Halmshaw.

It wasn't always in this church, though! The organ was moved from another church, St Leonard's Church in Ragnall. It was then set up in St Peter's Church in 1995 by Anthony Herrod. You can find more details about this organ on a special list called the National Pipe Organ Register.
