A Look Inside St Teilo's Church

How Old Is It?

The Church of St Teilo first started being built way back in the 1200s, which is the 13th century. Over the years, new parts were added, especially in the 1500s (the 16th century). The church also had big repair jobs, called "restorations," in 1890 and then smaller ones later in the 1900s.

Special Parts of the Church

The tall bell tower was built in the early 1300s. An aisle, which is a walkway along the side of the church, was added a little later. Around the chancel, which is the area near the altar, there are three special small rooms called chantry chapels. These chapels are considered some of the most memorable parts of the church.

The Bells

The bell tower holds six bells. These bells are very old, dating all the way back to the 1600s!

Services Today

Today, church services are held at St Teilo's on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
