Stacy Spikes is an American entrepreneur and inventor. He has created many businesses and holds several patents for his inventions. Stacy Spikes: Early Life and Career

Stacy Spikes grew up in Houston, Texas. His father was a school principal, and his mother hosted a TV show for the public. After finishing high school, Stacy moved to Los Angeles. There, he started his career in the entertainment world. His first job was at Motown Records, a famous music company. By 1995, Stacy was working at Miramax Films. He quickly moved up, becoming the vice president of marketing. Later, he became a senior vice president of marketing at October Films.

Urbanworld Film Festival: A Creative Hub

In 1997, Stacy Spikes created the Urbanworld Film Festival. This festival celebrates films and stories from diverse voices. It especially supports women and BIPOC creators. The festival takes place every year in New York City. In 2021, it celebrated its 25th anniversary, showing how successful and important it has become.

MoviePass: The First Chapter

Stacy Spikes launched MoviePass in February 2011. He started it with his co-founder, Hamet Watt. MoviePass was a new idea: a service where you could pay a monthly fee and watch movies at the cinema. In 2012, they introduced a new way to pay using special technology. Famous actor Robert De Niro was one of the early supporters of MoviePass.
