Staind is an American rock band from Massachusetts, United States. The band started making music in 1994. They are known for their powerful rock sound.
Their first album, Tormented, was released in 1996. Staind's album The Illusion of Progress came out on August 19, 2008. Some of their most popular songs include Outside, It's Been Awhile, and So Far Away. In 2013, the band announced they were taking a break, which is called a "hiatus." They made it clear they were not breaking up forever.

Staind has four main members who create their music:
- Aaron Lewis – He is the lead singer and also plays acoustic Guitar.
- Mike Mushok – He plays the electric guitars for the band.
- Johnny April – He plays the bass guitar, which provides the low sounds.
- Sal Giancarelli – He plays the Drums, keeping the beat for the band.
Jon Wysocki was an earlier drummer for the band.
