Stanisław Aleksy Tym (born July 17, 1937 – died December 6, 2024) was a very talented Polish artist. He was known as an actor, a funny comedian, a journalist, and someone who used humor to comment on society. He also directed and wrote for films and plays.
Stanisław Tym worked on many films with another famous director, Stanisław Bareja. He became very well-known for his role in the special film Rejs (which means The Cruise), directed by Marek Piwowski. This film is considered a "cult film," meaning it's very popular and has a dedicated fan base.
In the 1990s, he wrote regular articles, called columns, for a popular Polish news magazine called Wprost. Later, he wrote for the newspaper Rzeczpospolita and then for Polityka starting in 2007.
He won many awards for his work. One important award was the Nagroda Kisiela in 1998, which he received for being the best columnist. Stanisław Tym passed away on December 6, 2024, at the age of 87.
