Stanley is a town located in Barron County in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. In 2020, about 2,570 people lived here. This number was a little higher than in 2010, when 2,546 people lived in Stanley. The town of Stanley completely surrounds the village of Cameron, but they are two separate places.

Where is Stanley?

Stanley is found in the eastern part of Barron County. A river called the Red Cedar River flows through the western side of the town. This river generally follows U.S. Route 53, which is a large four-lane highway. Another major road, U.S. Route 8, crosses the town from east to west. The village of Cameron is located southwest of the center of Stanley and is entirely surrounded by the town.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town of Stanley covers a total area of about 82.1 square kilometers (which is about 31.7 square miles). Most of this area, 80.4 square kilometers (31.0 square miles), is land. The rest, about 1.7 square kilometers (0.7 square miles), is water, making up about 2.06% of the total area.
