Why Was It Built?
The unveiling of the statue was a big event. It celebrated two important milestones. It marked 100 years since Romanians first came to live in Canada. It also celebrated 35 years of friendly relations between Canada and Romania.

The Mihai Eminescu Statue is located in a place called Place de la Roumanie, which means Romania Square. This square is a small park. You can find it between four streets: rue Sewell, rue Clark, rue St. Cuthbert, and Avenue des Pins.
