Stephanie Courtney is an American actress and comedian. She was born on February 8, 1970. Many people know her as Flo from the Progressive Insurance commercials. She started playing Flo in 2008.
Stephanie has also been in many TV shows. She voiced characters like Renee and Joy in Tom Goes to the Mayor. She played Marge in Mad Men and Diane in Cavemen. You might also know her as Essie Karp from The Goldbergs. Stephanie was part of The Groundlings. This is a famous comedy group in Los Angeles.

Stephanie Courtney's Early Life and Education
Stephanie Courtney was born in Stony Point, New York. She was the youngest of three children. Her father was a high school history teacher. Her mother was a singer.
In 1992, Stephanie graduated from Binghamton University. She earned a degree in English. While there, she acted in the play The Crucible. After college, she moved to New York City. She studied acting at the Neighborhood Playhouse.
Later, she moved to Los Angeles. She lived with her sister, Jennifer Courtney. They wrote and performed comedy sketches together. They called their act "Those Courtney Girls." They performed in Los Angeles and at the Aspen Comedy Festival.
Stephanie joined The Groundlings comedy group. In 2004, she became a main member. She met Scott Kolanach there. He was the theater's lighting director. They got married in 2008. While starting her career, Stephanie worked many different jobs. She even worked in catering to support herself.
