Stephen Scott, born on March 13, 1969, is an amazing American jazz pianist. He started playing the piano when he was just five years old! When he went to the High School of Performing Arts in New York, a saxophonist named Justin Robinson showed him the exciting world of jazz music. Stephen especially loved the music of Wynton Kelly and Red Garland. Later, he continued to learn piano with private lessons at the famous Juilliard School of Music.

Stephen Scott's Early Career and Awards
In 1986, Stephen Scott received a special award called the Young Talent Award. This award came from the National Association of Jazz Educators. It showed everyone how talented he was! Within the same year, he got a big job playing piano for the famous singer Betty Carter.

Stephen Scott quickly became a popular musician. He played with many well-known jazz bands and artists.
