Steve Albert worked for many different teams. In basketball, he announced games for the New Jersey Nets, New Orleans Hornets, Golden State Warriors, and Phoenix Suns. He finished his career with the Phoenix Suns after the 2016–2017 season.

He also covered baseball for the New York Mets. Steve even announced games for the New York Islanders and New York Rangers in hockey. He worked for the Cleveland Crusaders in another sport called indoor soccer. He also reported on sports for TV stations like WCBS-TV, WNBC-TV, and WWOR-TV.

Boxing and Special Events

Steve Albert was also a boxing announcer for 17 years on Showtime Championship Boxing. He described many big fights, including a famous match between Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield in 1997. Because of his great work in boxing, he was added to the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2018.

He was also the play-by-play announcer for the "MTV Rock N' Jock" celebrity sports specials in the 1990s. He even co-hosted a game show called The Grudge Match.
