Steve Edwards (born Stephen Neil Edwards) is an English singer and songwriter from Sheffield. He is famous for his work in house music, a popular style of electronic dance music. He has worked with many famous music producers and DJs.
Music Career
Steve Edwards began his music career in the 1990s. He often worked with the musician Charles Webster on deep house songs. He also sang on tracks by a group called the Problem Kids.
Becoming Famous
In 2002, Edwards became known around the world for the song "The Sound of Violence". He created this hit song with the French music duo Cassius. It became a number-one dance hit in the United States.
After this success, he worked with the Swedish producer Axwell in 2005. They released the song "Watch the Sunrise," which was a big hit in the United Kingdom. It reached number 3 on the UK Dance Singles Chart.
In 2006, Edwards' voice was heard on radios everywhere. He wrote and sang on Bob Sinclar's famous song, "World, Hold On (Children of the Sky)". This song became a worldwide summer anthem.
Working as a Main Artist
In September 2006, Edwards released his own single, "Thru The Night". This was the first time he was listed as the main artist on a song. Before, he was usually a "featured artist," meaning he was a guest singer on another artist's track.
