Steven Fletcher's Hockey Journey
Steven Fletcher began his professional hockey career after being chosen by the Calgary Flames in the 1980 NHL Entry Draft. Being drafted means a team picks a player to join their organization.
He played a few games in the top league, the NHL, for two well-known teams: the Montreal Canadiens and the Winnipeg Jets.
Playing for the Fort Wayne Komets
Most of Steven's career was spent with the Fort Wayne Komets. He played for this team in the International Hockey League (IHL) for six seasons. He was a very important player for them.
After playing for the Atlanta Knights, Steven retired from hockey. However, he made a special comeback for one game with the Komets during the 2002–03 season. This was six years after he first retired!
Honors and Achievements
Steven Fletcher is a true legend for the Fort Wayne Komets. He was honored by being added to the Komets Hall of Fame. This is a special place for players who have made a big impact on the team.
