Larry Stevens Furtick Jr. (born February 19, 1980), known as Steven Furtick, is an American evangelical Christian pastor. He is also an author and a songwriter for Elevation Worship. Steven Furtick is the founder and leader of Elevation Church, which is based in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Early Life and Education
Steven Furtick grew up in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. He went to Berkeley High School. When he was 16, he read a book called Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire by Jim Cymbala. This book made him feel like he was meant to be a pastor in a big city.
He studied communication at North Greenville University. There, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. Later, he went to Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He earned a Master of Divinity degree from there.
Starting a Church
In 2004, Furtick worked as a worship leader at Christ Covenant Church. This was a Baptist church in Shelby, North Carolina. In 2006, he moved to Charlotte, North Carolina. He started Elevation Church with seven other families and his own family. The very first service for the church was held on February 5, 2006.
Elevation Worship Music
In 2007, Steven Furtick helped create the music group Elevation Worship. He writes songs for the group. Elevation Worship has been nominated for GMA Dove and Grammy Awards. They won a Grammy for their album, Old Church Basement.
Helping the Community
In 2007, Elevation Church made news for a special act of kindness. The church gave $40,000 to its members. They put money into envelopes, with amounts like $5, $20, or even $1,000. Members were told to use this money to help others in kind ways.
Steven Furtick also speaks at events around the world. In 2016, he was named to Oprah's SuperSoul100 list. This list includes visionaries and influential leaders.
In 2012, Furtick started an outreach program called the M1 Initiative. This program aimed to find mentors for 1,000 students in local schools. Furtick said the church wanted to be a blessing to the city. More than 1,600 church members volunteered to mentor a child for the 2012–2013 school year.
Elevation Church also donates a part of its offerings to help people. Steven Furtick has promised that 12 percent of the church's donations will go to support outreach efforts. These efforts help people both in the United States and around the world.
Public Life and Books
Steven Furtick is a New York Times best-selling author. He has written several books. He has also been involved in charity work. This includes donating clothes and furniture to families who need them.
On October 2, 2020, the Trinity Broadcasting Network began showing programs from Steven Furtick.
